Medium: Mixed media on paper
Dimensions: 74 × 90 cm (29.1 × 35.4 inches)
Description
The Devil’s Bait explores the absurdity of the eternal battle between good and evil through humor, childhood imagination, and surreal symbolism. Two little angels embark on a playful hunt for darkness, using an unexpected lure: a bright pink poop emoji resting innocently in the middle of the scene.
Above them, devils, clowns, skulls, and strange creatures populate a fantastical sky, creating a chaotic universe where innocence and mischief coexist. The contrast between the angels’ childlike presence and the bizarre, almost grotesque figures transforms the traditional struggle between good and evil into a theatrical and ridiculous game.
Blending playful imagery with darker undertones, the work challenges conventional ideas of morality, temptation, and fear. Here, the angels are not intimidated by darkness; instead, they approach it with curiosity, resourcefulness, and a mischievous sense of humor.
At its heart, The Devil’s Bait celebrates the power of imagination to turn fear into play and the absurd into something meaningful.
Sometimes, to catch the devil, you just need the right bait.
